Job Summary

As part of the Operations Team, you’ll be at the core of Playfinder as the team is the first point of contact for our users who have questions, problems, feedback and compliments.

In your role, you will be working within the day-to-day operations of the business such as answering calls and emails whilst dealing with customer enquiries, bookings and feedback.

You will be actively encouraged to contribute ideas, feedback and contribute positive changes to the business, and there will be opportunities to take on projects and show off your skills within the company. As you grow into the role, you will be able to take on extra responsibility so any experience in client support, data analysis, client onboarding, account management and client success would be beneficial to the role.

Day-to-day duties

  • Placing and managing bookings for sports venues across the UK for both affiliate and SaaS clients
  • Responsibility for the management of our fully managed venues, including managing renewals, debtors, fixtures and schedules
  • Managing email communications with both customers and venue managers
  • Taking incoming calls from customers looking to place a booking, as well as making outgoing calls to customers and venue managers
  • To ensure customers queries are answered with the aim of a first-time resolution in a quick response time
  • Providing the best possible customer experience to all customers
  • Talking directly with our customers, developing an understanding of what our community wants from our service
  • Proactively spotting patterns in the frustrations or hopes of our customers, seeing where we can change our processes and product to provide a better service
  • Support client onboarding and other areas of the Operations Team (such as managing listings, and product testing) during busy periods

Requirements

Job summary

Playfinder is looking for a talented, creative IT Quality Assurance Tester who will join a growing team in London/Remotely and play a decisive role as they build a wonderful product to scale across the UK and internationally. You will be involved with both designing and running manual tests on the products the development team build, working with the Lead QA.

Since its launch in January 2014, it has established a market leading position in London, Manchester, Brighton and Dublin as the search and booking portal for grassroots sports involving many different activities across thousands of venues. More recently, we launched Bookteq as a means for venues to manage bookings as well as a client widget enabling companies to take bookings via their own websites.

Core skill requirements:

  • Experience conducting manual tests, creating bug reports and have the ability to create impeccable test plans/cases

  • Systematically increase test coverage

  • Work alongside the development team to identify, catalogue and eradicate any bugs / unexpected behaviours

  • Write high standard code, reusable and easy to maintain

  • Contribute to the set up and maintenance of the QA environments

  • Comfortable with version control systems

  • Contribute to issue reporting and trend analysis

  • Documentation of QA processes

Bonus points

  • Familiarity with automated testing

  • Experience maintaining existing automated tests

  • Familiar with Selenium, Browserstack or any related software

  • Familiar with Cucumber.io is a bonus

  • Jira/Confluence experience is preferred

Personal Attributes

  • Strong belief in documentation and testing: when you write bug reports, they are clear and concise and there is no opportunity for misunderstanding

  • Team player who is happy to work alone to complete tasks without direct supervision

  • Good communication skills so that you can communicate ideas, problems and solutions in user-friendly way to everyone from the interns to CEO

  • Not afraid of the unknown – working on tasks which require self research and exploration to find solutions

  • Strong problem solving skills with can do attitude

  • Attention to details

  • Ability to multitask and work in a dynamic changing environment

  • Technology enthusiast keeping up to date with latest trends skills and frameworks across web technologies

2+ years commercial experience required
